Inspiration - Virtual Symposium - Outsourced.

The "out-sourced" version... Written for me, about me lol.

****

I've been inspired by the strangest of things in the weirdest of places. Maybe it's because I am weird? Who isn't though? If I am weird, then I'm 'nice weird'. A well meaning kinda weird! It's weird to be important but it's more important to be weird! That's my philosophy and that's what inspires me!

Inspiration surrounds us! It lurks around every corner and you never know when it will jump out. A walk in the park, the smell of spring, a breath of clean air, a quote, my family, my friends and the sound of bagpipes I've always had a thing about bagpipes. Well..... perhaps more the person whose playing them. Sigh... my brain just wandered off! For a minute I was in the heathered highlands being serenaded by a man in a kilt! When I was at college, I used to rest on my bed and listen to a kilted man on the path beneath my window. Those warm summer nights were wonderful. I'd think about my life and future possibilities such as travel....friends.... family and love. The sound would dance in and I would close my eyes and imagine that he was playing to me alone! Bagpipes when played right can be the most beautiful sound.... the right combination of notes can literally send a person to sleep whilst filling their head with magical dreams.

Haha... maybe I am weird!

All things considered though.... my biggest inspiration is love! My apartment is a homage to love! I have heart pictures, heart cushions and heart shape ice-cube trays. Some of my favourite authors, thinkers and musicians write out of angst, sorrow and nihilistic feelings of abandonment. On the flip side, in true yin/yang balance, poets such as Rumi write out of love. The ability to love and be loved is the most amazing feeling!

****

So, today I was inspired to.. NOT write. Thus I outsourced it to a friend to write for me. A few things are not *quite* accurate (ie: the pipe player was half a block away on the corner outside the corner bar, not beneath my window), and others... I don't recall ever saying I had pictures of hearts in my apartment. But yeah... the heart shaped ice cube trays are real. So's the picture.

And Love... now that I read this in writing, I'm not sure if "love" is my inspiration... but I have been contemplating a lot lately that "Love" is my religion.

To continue the countdown... 71 hours....

I do have other "inspired" ideas. Too many. What inspires me to meet ONE person? ANY person? Why this and not that person? What inspires me to get out of bed in the morning? (Though that was covered in the poem There is always purpose ... my cat inspires me to get out of bed as, if I don't, she begins chewing on me. What inspires me to consistently exercise? Many options.

Perhaps I will write my own non-outsourced version later

Back to whatever it is I'm doing. haha.

Yes, you are weird, but it is a very special and beautiful kind of weird that is absolutely endearing to anyone who takes the time to get to know you.

Should I bring my kilt when I come to Spokane in June?

Very, very pricey. Cost me a whole kiss. Those things don't come cheap!

I'm still not wearing a kilt no matter how much you plead. LOL

Awww! Even if I bat my eyelashes? And give a puppy-dog look?

Sadly no emoticon for all that. Plus I'm no good at the puppy-dog, eyelash fluttering look anyhow. Damn it!

You'd be might fearsome and sexy in a great kilt (that's the one with the extra fabric over the shoulder) and a little war paint and a sword.

*Sigh!*

So just plain old sexy it is then, since you refuse.

Well: I said I would have a post. But really can't sink my brain into it right now. Or shouldn't. Obviously I'm still wasting time I swore I didn't have by responding.

Weird is the same as normal....I always say "define 'normal'"

Not everyone can appreciate Bagpipe music, but I've always felt any true musician would. Pipe and Drum corps, very structured and precise...some great stuff Reminds me of a joke, IF I may...

A young college Co-ed is doing a study on the Scottish culture and while a Pipe and Drum corps were in town giving a performance she decided to go. After the show was over the fans were invited to meet some members of the troop in the lobby. She patiently waited her turn after everyone else and when the large burly man approached she introduced herself and asked if she could ask some questions about Scottish culture.

"Aye young lassie, ye may."

"Well, my first question is more of a curiosity. I've always wondered what you men wear under your kilt."

"Well young lass, there be only one wey ta find out, slide ya hand under and find out fer yaself!"

Nervously she slid her hand up under the bottom and felt around until she managed to grab his member. Utterly shocked and embarrassed she jumped back and exclaimed "Gruesome!!"

"Aye lassie, and if ye put yer hand back it'll grew some more!!"

Everyone is on a different plane of intelligence. Some people's plane has not taken off yet!!

LOL

That's one I've not heard before

There used to be bagpipe lessons in the summer at the local college about 2 blocks from where I lived at the time. The instructor would hang out on the corner outside the corner bar and play in the evenings and occasional patrons of the bar would send out a beer. My mom hated it but I'd lay there beneath my bedroom window and imagine he was playing just for me. Every evening in summer, lulling me to sleep. Beautiful.

Oh: I also have a very hard time not dancing when I hear "Scotland the Brave" because I learned a dance to the song many years ago lol.

Nick Lowe - 'You Inspire Me'

You inspire me
When my eyes begin to glaze
You inspire me
In so many ways
When I'm on the ground
You seem to know
How to pour blessings down
And spread them all around

You inspire me
When my well is almost dry
You inspire me
And in the twinkling of an eye
I'm back on my feet
You're so inspiring to me

The road is long
And it winds through the night
But when you're near
You let there be light

You inspire me
When my eyes begin to glaze
You inspire me
In so many ways
I'm back on my feet
You're so inspiring
I don't have to wish upon a star
That's how inspiring you are

There's nothing wrong with weird!
Outsourcing is a great way if there's no inspiration to write. Perhaps we should all write each other's blogs for a day to see whether anyone notcies!

demonicsexkitten replies on 4/27/2015 12:36 am:
LOL So I should have kept my mouth shut then (so to speak) about the "outsourced" nature.

Actually that was probably the original idea lol Ah well.

DSK,
Weirdos unite! I wrote a blog post about this last week (I chose to write on body image all week long). On OKstupid they have a question on there- would you rather be normal or strange? I find it off putting if someone chooses "normal". Normal is so boring. Because let's face it, we all have our strange ideas or ways (or weird ones) and we have ideas and ways that are more-or-less normal ones.

We just have to find the ones that mesh with our weird ways, best!
Kitkat

The observant make the best lovers,
I may not do right, but I do write,
I have bliss, joy, and happiness in my life,

Hmm... wonder how I answered that question? I think I said something along the lines of "I'm probably the most "normal" person you will ever meet - which, in a way, makes me the weirdest person ever". Or something like that lol.

I'm great at finding people that mesh with certain aspects of my weirdness... but never all. The best I can hope for is open minded enough to not freak out and run.

*HUG* Thanks for commenting

Since you put it that way ..... call me Braveheart. My hair was just about that long until last week too so I might have been able to pull it off. Oh ... damn ... the glasses would be a dead giveaway.

So ... who would you want to be .... Murron or Isabelle?

Seriously, AB!! You need to tell a girl stuff like that LOL

I'd rather be Murron.

Except I'd rather hope to live too.

Interesting take, having someone give his perspective on your inspiration based on his perception of you. So... not quite as many heart decorations, save for the ice cubes, but love nonetheless? And not a word about drumming?

if you decide to write your own non-outsorced version, I'll be delighted to read and post it!

demonicsexkitten replies on 4/28/2015 3:44 pm:
Oh hahah... trust me, there are hearts

Ice cube trays. Cake pans. Bread pan. Cookie cutters. Tart press. Picture (pictures? He remembers me telling him but I don't though I know I have at least one). Magnets. Socks.

Though I balance all the hearts with hidden and not so hidden weaponry.

He probably figured I've covered drums enough

I am sure I will write a non-outsourced version Just... no time!

Count-down: 24 hours. 16 of which will be spent working or sleeping. Hopefully 8 hours sleeping but really probably only 5.
