Woohooo!! Congratulations

Happy to see another NaNoWriMo'er here (there are a few). So far I've written... 0 this year. Not counting my blog.

My desktop computer scares my creative writing mojo away. And other life things are taking the little creative energy I have left.

Was this your first time participating?

Thank you. Yes, it was the first time I've participated. I've tried it on my own in the past, but felt I needed the added motivation of a deadline. It helped get me to write more than I ever have before.

I deal with the same thing when it comes to computers scaring my inspiration, but I've learned to take control of the computer, rather than letting it control me. My problem comes when I don't know what I"m going to write, then it doesn't matter whether its paper and pen or computer. If I'm motivated the words come, if I'm not, I have to find some tricks to get the words to come out. Usually, when I do that, I'm not very happy with the results.

Don't think for a minute there aren't numerous tangents in those 50,000 plus words. The real challenge is going to come in January when I try to put it all together in some sensible order. I have a feeling much of what I've written won't survive editing.

That is quite an accomplishment. I tried writing for years and always only finished half way. Kudos!

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

Thanks. I've done better with some of my other writings, but this one I finished a first draft which I've never done before.
