But I think I can understand the motivation for some of these women going public with their accusations now. I would be quite reluctant to stand alone in making charges like this, it would take a very strong person to press these accusations against a man of his stature. Once one woman comes forward, it seems that it would be much easier for others to join in with her and say that it happened to them also. Of course, it would make it easier for gold-diggers to come forward also.

One of the problems with asking the question "Why would he do it?" is that we don't know what his sexual appetites may be. He may get off on getting upcoming actresses in vulnerable positions and paying someone to do that wouldn't work for him. I don't know.
