Well, in a moment of great sincerity, I am an english teacher who has written and read hundreds, if not thousands of resumes. The new format of resumes is skills based, not linear. Feel free to hum via mail here if you'd like some assistance. The good vibes are already here.

Hey Downtime, don't be so down-trodden, look at it as a rebirth of the 14 year younger version of yourself (who made twice as much money). Here's my 2 cents: 1. There are lots of really good reasons for seeking new career opportunities. Hubby saying you don't make enough dough probably isn't one of them. He should pay you for being his hot wife. 2. As an employer, I throw out resumes over a page immediately. Keep it to the relevant detail: highest education you've received and most recent employment. Beyond that, as another reader commented, focus on your skills and list them first. 3. For the cover letter, 4 sentences tops, and something custom to the job is always good. I hired someone a month ago because that person researched my company online, and tailored his message to how he could fit into what we do. 4. If you're work experience as of last isn't going to help you much on your resume, then maybe try and move laterally in your industry, but to a higher paying position. Hope that helps, Happy Halloween. Cal
