The last day of Summer vacation

The last day of Summer vacation Today was the last day of the girl's Summer vacation, and so I took them to Santa's Village. They asked that their dad be able to join us, so after setting "the rules" firmly in place, (O.K. so I threatened him, whatever) we set off on our adventure this morning. The nearly 12 year old told me she felt as if she was 5 again, but in a good way. The 9 year old couldn't wait to "show me around" as she'd been there earlier this year with her counselor. (She forgets I brought her when she was 2ish.  ) The 3 year old had a blast punching her alphabet card at each of the elves to claim her diploma, and riding all of the rides. The baby is 6 months shy of being able to ride on most of them, but she had a good time petting the reindeer and watching the shows, clapping along and shaking her butt. (I have no idea where she gets this from.  ) And for the first time in a long time, not one single argument, and I didn't get hit on at all by the ex!  Progress! (Or the threat sunk in, whatever. ) We did the gingerbread decorating, and of course eating, and all got our custom made rings made from nails. The girls all got their pictures taken with Santa, and I found my name on the "Nice List".  So all in all a good day!  And tomorrow the two oldest start school. Wahoo! A bit of freer time during the day! And of course they'll be learning stuff. (Yeah, that's what I'm happy about... ) I think the 3 year old will be awfully disappointed that she has to wait until next week to go though, so I'm going to do something special with her and the baby tomorrow to help soften the blow to her feelings. Maybe a girly makeover day or some such thing. She loves those. She found some scissors the other day in her oldest sister's room and gave the front of her hair a tiny trim.  Thankfully she was caught before she could do much damage!  So, anyone else do anything fun to send out Summer with a bang?  |

Apparently Santa doesn't check that list twice anymore, there's obviously been a mistake. I have plans on sending summer out with a bang, but it's just not quite here yet.

Yeah, I'm thinking Santa has too many elves working for him nowadays and there must have been some kind of bureaucratic mix up with the lists. All that red tape they used to only use for streamers hehe. Sounds like a fun day though  If I'm lucky, my summer will be sent out with a bang. I'm working on it  The thing that perplexes me most though is - what the heck happened to August?

Not really a bang, but my 5 Year old daughter starts Kindergarden tomorrow... Her first day at "Big Girl School". I took her out to the movies last night. G-Force.. Very cute, and she had a blast! Sarcasm is just one of the services I offer.
