Let me call you sweet heart

On second thought, only if I know you really well and it's situational. If I come up with a pet name for you, to be sure we've had conversations that have lasted hours if not days, and it will be relevant.
The past few days I have been called a lot of names. "Sweetie", "hon", "Baby", "Sexy", "doll" and to top it off "Puppy". That's right, puppy. Apparently it's because I have puppy eyes.
I try not to be too hard on the guys. I know they're just trying to be "friendly". Really, I get it. But it is an annoyance of mine. Usually I go the gentle route of redirection or just ignore it until I can determine if there is anything worth continuing the conversation for. I think the puppy thing was just a bit too much for me though. I had to tell him that I'm not a bitch, but that calling a girl that would probably cause her to be one.
I tend to feel that if someone that doesn't know me is calling me names instead of my own, that they just can't be bothered to remember mine because I'm interchangeable and disposable. I'm not a real person to them, just some chick they'd like to plug into and unwind in for awhile. Might as well be a blow up doll to these men without feelings or thoughts of my own. Just call me Exxon so you can pump and go! I hardly think so.
I respect myself and I expect anyone that I talk with to respect me as well. I won't lower my IQ or standards for anyone. Quite frankly I'd rather fuck myself than some jack ass that can't be bothered to remember or use my name.
DonDecton(Thank you! ) gave me a nickname that I love and have used for anonymity purposes a lot, Peeks. It fits and it's good. Others have used variations of it, Peekie, Peekaboo, Peeka, whatever, it's all good and it's all fine. No problems, no worries. Other friends call me all sorts of other nicknames, but it's all fine because there's reason and purpose to it. It's familiarity, we have history. Maybe that's what is annoying me as well, it's like skipping steps and jumping right into familiarity.
Well slow down! If you're worth getting to know, I'm going to give you a chance to show me that.
Ok, so rant over. I feel better now. I have beat my head against the computer screen long enough.

Do you all have nick names?
What's the worst thing anyone ever called you not meaning to piss you off, but they did?

LOL One of my favorite residents of all time would wheel around in her wheelchair chanting "Dirty little bitch" over and over again. I liked it so much I used it as a handle for years at the smiley place. When I was 9 months pregnant with one of my midgets, another resident told me I was "Pretty hot for a fat chick."

I remember my English teacher at school calling me "Chatty" for the simple reason that I was a little too quiet for his liking. It was during my last two years (14-16) and it used to piss me off even then.

Hey there Pussycat. Having a bit of a grumble session are we Sweetcheeks. Don't worry too much about what people, whom you don't know, call you Mangopip. I would have thought that pet names would have all been par for the course for a Chickybabe like you Sugarplum. I'll just call you Peeks from now on then, shall I Darlin' Cutie Sweetie Snugglepot?
As for me, well I don't really care what people call me. Although once (a long time ago) a girl I was with called me Shortie. I can't say that I particularly enjoyed that too much. I was never quite sure if she was jokingly referring to my height, or not.

I get called Jimbo by a lot of my friends, and get a lot of "hey big guy" from casual acquaintances.

My grandmother used to call me Jimmy Dick all the time when I was little. Drove me nuts. Middle name is Richard, that's how I became a dick. Also when I was painting a house with my friend who is also a Jim, the guy we we're working for decided to call him LJ and me BJ, for little Jim and big Jim. I didn't want to be called BJ, didn't want any convusion on what he was paying me for. I'm not that kinda girl.

Isn't that annoying when someone thinks they know you so intimately, so quickly that they think they can rename you. Hun, sweetie, stud and sugar get annoying really fast when someone doesn't know you. Years ago I some of my friends gave me "Hot Lips" that one was annoying. Nothing worse when your trying to meet someone new and a friend goes by and says "Hey Hot Lips!". Imagine being a guy and have to explain that one all the time.

Hot Lips. At least it was friends that gave it to you, and I'm sure it was a great ice breaker.
