WILL YOU MARRY ME?

WILL YOU MARRY ME?

Recently a man spelt out his proposal of marriage in hundreds of lit candles in a park in London. Utpal Kanbia arranged for his friends to light the candles just before he was due to arrive with his girlfriend, Meena Rabadia.

However, a police helicopter also saw his marriage proposal. Utpal Kanbia thought he was going to be arrested when he saw the helicopter hovering overhead.

Instead, the police tweeted the image with the accompanying caption: “We think we have just seen the most romantic guy in north London”.

The girlfriend did accept his offer of marriage.

I have seen a few public marriage proposals, but I’ve not yet seen one where the proposal was rejected.

Have you ever seen a marriage proposal get turned down in public?
If you were to propose marriage (or equivalent) to someone, how would you plan it?

It would not surprise me if an offer of marriage has been planned on this site - perhaps someone has posted a marriage proposal on their blog!

That would be fun... a blogger proposing to a fellow blogger.

I'd probably not plan too much. I'm not big on public spectacles lol. Most likely I'd just slip it in on a normal conversation. Or while cuddling. Or something.

Of course I also expect the guy to do the proposing.

I kind of remember reading I think it was last year that some woman did turn one down, where it was on a scoreboard in a football stadium. Um I think it should be a slam dunk. Meaning if you planned something big you already know the answer.

To me it is about two people, not the world just my humble opinion. I knew we were going to get engaged we had looked at rings. But did not know when: So we are dressed to go see a musical. And he says I do not think you are quite dressed yet. Hands me the box, I open and he asked will you marry me and some other things. I said yes. The Musical? Best little whorehouse in TX.

Naughty and so enjoying it!!

There is a documentary called "Unhung Hero" that begins with a public proposal at a UCLA basketball game being declined. In a later private conversation, the woman gave the man a few reasons, one of which was his small penis. The rest of the documentary is about him looking for ways to make it bigger.

My fantasy proposal would be outdoors at some romantic spot, like an overlook, that had become a favorite for us as a couple. I would do it after a romantic dinner at a nearby restaurant.

The familiar location contributes to preserving the surprise, since going there won't seem unusual.

The public proposal strikes me as horribly unfair to the recipient. I don't think anyone should be 100% sure of acceptance. That's taking his partner for granted.

I've never seen a public proposal to know whether it was turned down or not.

I know of some blogger couples who have married....but the proposals were private!

I guess bloggers have been proposing all sorts of things to each other! But it would be nice to have a blogland wedding.

I've been married once, but I wouldn't rule marriage out again if someone is desperate enough to marry me!

I think some guys are afraid of a no answer and some know it will be no.
So they plan this big thing were all the people are watching, thinking no way she will no marry me now.
Have heard of it back fire a lot of times.
Was a show on TV once showing this, very sad.

I think people who propose marriage in public are being a little unfair on the person they're proposing to.

There's a little side in me that would enjoy seeing a turned down proposal, but it's a very little side! There's a lot of pressure on the person being proposed to in public.

I think wedding etiquette has gone out of the window nowadays. I've been proposed to and I had two best men.
