Wouldn't it be Grand

Wouldn't it be grand if we as adults could hand someone a piece of paper that says "Do you like me? Check Yes or No" Sounds like a fool proof plan right? Pretty straight to the point. Unfortunately, unlike the pre teens who created this romantic quiz of sorts, we as adults have complicated lives. I have a feeling the response I would get would go something like this, "I like you..... but. Is it just me or is there always a but?

 The older I get, the more buts there seem to be. At this point there are more buts, than why nots. I know I've gotten more cynical over the years; so maybe cynicism comes with a bunch of buts.
