I thought your hair went well with that dress. I like the "don't call it a costume". Congrats on the vote and specially being nominated for the contest.

Congrats on Mz Blogger USA! You certainly look like a princess in the pics. Gorgeous as always.

Isn't it great when our kids make us proud! I write more about the trials I have with Lil Bit and her mouth but she always makes me proud in public with her manners.

I went to one of the "famous" cupcake places in DC while the Viking was there. I was sorely dissappointed with the selection but what they did have was amazing! I am always craving really good bakeries from my Long Island, NY days. I think its really funny how different the NY Italian bakeries I grew up with are from the bakeries in Italy that I visited.

As for wedding, since I just got married in April and happen to think its a perfect marriage I'd have say our wedding was fabulous. It went off without a hitch was very low stress but looked great. A really perfect fit for our life style and personalities.

LA

I went to a wedding, July 8, 2012, and it was absolutely marvelous. What made it so great? It was my wedding and all the headaches and problems that I anticipated were non-existent.

Plus, everybody, including myself, was having fun. Normally, you'll find one person who is just a miserable individual, but here there wasn't even the slightest frown on anyone's face.

And the pics were great.

LOL...I hope you get a vacation from your vacation soon.

And I LOVE the outfits! Yes, I may be biased that my favorite blogger is wearing them, but they are beautiful...someday may tell you all about that.

I think you look beautiful. That patented GR smile supercedes everything and anything else.

I never attended many weddings. I don't think any of them were amazingly fantastic, although I did attend a couple that were amazingly terrible. But that could just be my personal taste was different than the happy couple. The worst one was in college, I stood up for my unexpectedly pregnant friend during her backyard kegger wedding, and the best man was my ex-bf who had tried to kill himself and told everyone it was because I rejected him. Yeah... good times...

2022... it HAS be better, right?!

Welcome back. You look amazing in those photos.

The best wedding I have ever been to was my daughter's. She is very relaxed and so is her husband and they organised everything just the way they wanted it. The ceremony was outdoors, in a beautiful setting, the sun shone all day long, the food and music were perfect. It was a day to remember.

Thanks, Babe!

I love weddings that are a true reflection of the bride and groom, whether it's more formal or more casual. I think that day needs to be about the two people in the spotlight- not their parents and what they think everyone else wants to see.

You look so beautiful in the photographs my sweet!

It seems you raised your children quite well, and not the typical "kids nowadays" kind. Nice to see isn't it?

I was so proud of him! And my 7 year old daughter was quick with the 'please' and 'thank yous' all weekend- think she finally got the hang of it! It's so nice when other people tell me my kids are polite .

i am so impressed with your children. awesome to hear. as far as the scarfs go it was great. costume does sound tacky i think. weddings are such a good way to see extended family again. in my case it will be funerals that get us back together again.

gottaring replies on 9/4/2012 1:17 pm:
We have three more cousins to go and then the funerals will begin. We try to make an effort to see each other in between weddings and holidays, but it's hard with most of my cousins being doctors and going through residency right now.

I bet your kiddo is a polite one- just based on what I know of you .

I have attended many weddings, several of my own. But they are always fun, especially the receptions when people relax and have fun.

You look beautiful in the pics. I have to ask though -- how do you keep the jewelry affixed to your forehead? Is it some sort of vajazzling secret you learned in DC?

gottaring replies on 9/4/2012 6:51 am:
My Bindis are all self-sticking- no vajazzling equipment needed .

I once attended a tudor cook out in Hampton Court - words fail me. This was in the late 15th century. Made me fall in love all over again.

Indian weddings. A pleasure to visit for anyone but the bride. Glad your children are a source of pride, GR.

gottaring replies on 9/4/2012 6:53 am:
That's right- I forgot that you know the trials and tribulations of being a bride at an Indian wedding, lol. After watching my sister get married in a traditional ceremony in India, I opted for a Lutheran ceremony- no clothing changes, but my feet were killing me!

When done right, weddings can be amazing! I've attended a few that were...how can I say this? They were...boring. Usually it's a matter of things not being reflective of the couple involved and more about what the parents wanted.
