Stumbling on the Side of 12 Misty Mountains... So...Where have I been...Well, I've been spending a lot of time exploring other social media. It started with Twitter- I know a few of you followed me there and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have grown to. I was surprised, really. I expected a bunch of vapid nonsense from celebrities, and instead I stumbled into a part of Twitter populated by funny, maturely immature folks my own age who are as fucked up as I am and hilarious to boot. If you ever want to look me up, I'm at AnitaHelmet. I have close to 9,500 followers now- don't know if that's a lot of a little by most standards, but they're a fun group. It's a different dynamic- most people don't comment and don't encourage comments from others- something I had to get used to coming from Blogville. It's also quite the meat market if you're shopping for some fun. I've met a few nice guys there- Twitter Crushes, as they are known. You really can get to know someone if you read their feed diligently. 140 characters doesn't give you much to go on, but some folks make the most of it. I highly recommend it! Quick wit, lots of laughs, instant validation and 24 hour feedback- what's not to like? I also delved into Instagram for a short while. For those who aren't familiar with it, it's a photo sharing site. I started with pics of my baked creations and three in a few sassy ones here and there, but there are always trolls looking to crap on your party, so I was suspended for nudity a few times. This led me to Mobli, where the TOU isn't as stringent when it comes to nudity. I didn't stay there long- it just didn't do much for me. Instagram was nice because I got to see a side of my twitter friends that they wouldn't expose on a place as public as Twitter. I saw their and families, vacations pictures and glimpses into their REAL LIVES. Eventually I left because of politics and cliquish behavior, but I still recommend it. Other sites like Vine, Snapchat and Voxer got a preliminary visit, but I didn't hang around there too long. Not much to gain for the effort. And now I find myself back here, where I can be myself and hopefully find someone who welcomes my own personal brand of crazy. It hasn't been easy- after THAT GUY, I found that I am very resistant to investing in someone new. Of course I still chat with him from time to time- old habits die hard. But it's not the same and it never will be. I need to reconcile that I will ever have that kind of relationship again. That doesn't mean the next one won't be better- I just need to give it a chance. More later...my bath water is getting chilly and no one likes a pruny Gottaring, lol... Thanks for welcoming me back, Guys and Dolls. I've missed you-- really, I have. When it comes to sex, I need a STRONG connection. Otherwise, the page just keeps buffering and takes FOREVER to load... |

I tried to get into twitter but there was something lacking for me. I think it was the sense of discussion in a way. Don't get me wrong I don't get tired of dick, sex, and kid jokes. But for the most part I like the idea here that I can have a discussion sometimes with my readers. And welcome back Don't compromise yourself! You are all you've got!
