It's Reigning Men If only I played with penises as often as I played with words, eh? Which brings to my point: I'd forgotten about all the dicks around here. It's a penis salad with a side of nuts, and I think I've lost my appetite. I say I "think" I've lost my appetite, because let's face it- some of them are fairly mouthwatering. Others...not so much. But it's nothing new to the bulk of you-- I'm quite sure you've been desensitized for quite some time now, much like I was prior to my sabbatical. But now I'm back and I want to talk about DICK. I wish I could sequester the men with the penis and 'action sex' profile photos and just shake them really hard for a few minutes. "What are you thinking?!" I'd ask them. "Do you really believe that's ALL women are attracted to? Or is it that you believe your penis is the only thing you have to offer?" "Listen, you arrogant, hypocritical cunt," they'd reply, "Shut the fuck up and quit being a prude. I LIKE my penis. Nay-- I LOVE my penis. And I believe EVERYONE has the right to show whatever body part they choose to on this site. It's a hookup site, after all. If I wanted to sell my sense of humor or my intellect, I'd post a photo of Chris Farley or Rodin's Thinker. I just wanna get my dick sucked, m'kay?" And, quite honestly, they'd be right to say that. But I also have the right to scroll on by in search of a broad chest or a nice set of shoulders encased in a French blue dress shirt with his tie slightly askew and...Wait, I digress. My point is that I think the dynamic has shifted in my absence. Women have become more willing to embrace their baser instincts, and men are feeding the need. And why shouldn't they? After all, when I left a year ago the men were on the bottom rung of a ladder that led to nowhere. Now it seems that they've ascended to the top and are dangling their naughty bits just out of reach. The pinnacle where once stood a woman with her legs parted just enough for a peek, is now occupied by a man unabashed and rather satisfied as his sits upon his throne with a smug little smile just hoping his balls don't stick to the wicker. I'm not sure what all of this means-- your comments are welcome as always. I'm merely offering an observation. I'm not sure this new dynamic is a BAD thing, mind you. I'm just not sure I have the energy to climb that pesky ladder (again). When it comes to sex, I need a STRONG connection. Otherwise, the page just keeps buffering and takes FOREVER to load... |

I wasn't aware that things had changed that much in the past year - as far as men's pics go. But I'm with you on always preferring to see a tasteful pic of a nice set of pecs, abs, shoulders, arms, chest, face, butt, or whatever - but I will rarely ever respond to someone who's main pic is of their dick. If that's the most attractive part of him - I'm just "not that interested". All I've been noticing is that there's been clearly a rise in illiteracy and a drastic decrease in intelligence

I've yet to feel that men are on top of the dating game, so I can't confirm that. But, I have seen what appears to be less sycophants. I used to see so many men, that if a woman said "Men are assholes", the man would say "Yes, I'm sorry, can I get you some coffee?" and affirm anything she said. I still see far too many on the book face. I've stopped being a nice guy. No, no dick pictures. No meanness. Just not pursuing, no apologizing, no chasing, no begging. I am who I am, take me or leave me. I am still having no direct luck here, but out in the non-cyber world, like my office, it seems I am getting more attention and I am being pursued. And I'm not a terribly sexy guy. It's all in how I carry myself, my attitude. And I'm not fighting for "nice guy points" I think that may be the subtle shift.

Nothing has changed, it's just the difference between men who are regular bloggers and the gen pop on this site. For a variety of reasons, men have, do and will post dick pics galore. Men who blog regularly, are more likely to have a higher interest in social intercourse (ha ha see what I did there) than there non blogging counterparts. Hence, you'll find a lot of men on this (or a comparable) threat who don't do the dick pic thing because you've expressed a general dislike of them. I wonder though, if you popped over to Sandra D's thread about dick pics if any of them express a slightly different point of view

I am rather surprised that you have only noticed this now because I could see it shift several years ago. But for sure these days it seems to be the rule rather than the exception for a bloke to show a dick pic. And more and more I feel something of a renegade for maintaining my other appendage as my profile shot for over 7 years. But can one really expect any different in a site catering for the lowest common denominator. And I am not sure if your blog title had this in mind but it does seem to be a case of survival of the crudest in here and crass is king. Of course it cant be denied that there is a market for crude and crass. And so crude and crass begats crude and crass. And unlike you and I, many fine folks have a lower tolerance and have taken their business elsewhere tilting the balance even further into the abyss. The idea of live and let live has to have its limits. And by the way market forces being as they are, there seems to me to have been a marked shift towards gynaecological pussy shots among female bloggers too which is sad state of affairs for a seasoned tit lover such as myself. Someone (like you) comes along and makes things 'interesting' once again! Ying and Yang taking turns to maintain the balance in our ever changing and delightful universe... I honestly wish both sexes could post face photographs openly on here... without judgement, or shame. I find it difficult to email a pair of boobs, or stockinged legs. As for me, I've gone through a diversity of main profile pics, but never with my dick floating aimlessly in the void... without it being attached firmly to some form of my tattooed yumminess. lol Thoughts from the Garden...

Gottaring, I think your perception still hasn't adjusted to the light since you returned. Many men are still displaying their naughty bits in hopes of getting someone to bite the bait they dangle, but we (for the most part) still occupy the cellar of this site. Why you (obviously intelligent and beautiful too) seem to think men have ascended and may be looking down on you, I haven't a clue. Once again, a very insightful post. I have a tattoo of a dragon on a non-sexual body part as my profile pic, I don't know what that says about me. I recently broke down and yes, there is a picture of my male member in the blogosphere. Of course it isn't on my own blog, so those who are curious/like peni/want to scar their retinas can go to where I outsourced it and look. I prefer to be attractive for my wit and intelligence, since heaven knows I can't rely on my looks! I also still hold with the saying that "pretty on the outside doesn't mean pretty on the inside". I really don't know where this was headed, so I'm off to buy a french blue dress shirt. Take it easy, guns are cold.
