The Harvest Moon

Fall is by far my favorite time of year.Living in the country with so many trees makes it even more wonderful. While many of the leaves have fallen there are several trees near me that are bright red and spectacular and seem to hold their leaves forever.
I love the crisp clean air and apple picking and i make a great apple pie Just one of my many talents
Once the sun has set and the moon has come out there is the possibility of a harvest moon .Its like a big yellow orb in the sky hovering there and I so wish I could reach out and touch it .What do you like best about autumn?

The most recent Harvest Moon has passed, and the unseasonable heat has resulted in an abundance -- a disappointing abundance? -- of green, for those of us expecting the reds and golds of fall. Still, you asked what people like most about autumn, and that deserves a decent answer, even if we still have to wait to experience it...

1. The scent of a wood-burning fireplace, which one can sometimes experience in Manhattan's Greenwich village.

2. Crisp clear cold air, say 65 degrees and around 50 percent humidity. The sort of day in which one can look for miles and have the vista be clear as a Kodachrome photo.

3. The flavors of autumn: Nutmeg, cinnamon, roasted root vegetables, thick red meat stews flavored with coriander and garlic.

4. Soft thick socks. They're even better if you wear them.

5. An end to sand in one's shoes. Beaches have their place -- just not between my toes.

I love this time of the year too. The cooler weather makes it nice to hold each other close and the crisp cool air is so refreshing.. Wouldn't mind a pice of that apple pie either
