be mine In light or dark seek the heart
the words you speak are so discrete
delivered beneath the conversation level
a flash of questioning in those eyes
so swift another would never surmise
the heat is building as we exchange
discussions of the arcane and strange

or clerical figures to their beliefs loyal
and yet those authors found a way
to describe love's flirtatious play
in words cunning dripping off the tongue
and a thousand rhythmic tricks
to convey when fulfilment done
higher higher and lower and deeper
trawling through the texts to complete her
is no doubt you intend the same
as your lips enunciate with tongue twist my name
and warmed in mutual glow of words
I find myself admiring your curves
of the conversation sadly I lose track
then feel your hand upon my back
it could be to steady yourself as you stand
if your nails rakishly did not land
and a line drawn firm upon my spine
