Why the lifestyle? I am going to take a few lines today to explain what a swinger is and why I am so dedicated to the lifestyle.  a swinger is anyone who does not fit into the vanilla world of sex. so if you have ever had sex "outside" of marriage you are a swinger. (yes even if you did not have penetration or only masturbated with another person)  now having said that, it must be noted that swinging is a choice. we decide everyday who we will be, how we will be, and how we will enhance our own lives.  The thing I like best about the lifestyle is the HONESTY.>>! Everyone (well those who swing successfully) is up front and honest about their desires, their needs, their boundaries and weather they are interested in you or not. happym; I don't have to guess where I stand with people in the lifestyle i just have to ask and they expect you to ask.  couples spend long hours discussing what they want from the choice to swing and set boundaries that help them find the situation they desire.  while it is about sex it is not all about sex and I personally have spent more than 60 percent of my time in the lifestyle settings socializing in order to set up the sexual experiences that i want.  I like that I can talk about my sexuality to others and not be looked at like some depraved pervert. happyf; I like that I find many others with the same desires and thoughts as I have and who aren't afraid to lay it out.  I truly like when I look around in a setting that not many people let themselves experience and think "this is surreal but I am actually here and getting off." ...\8 I have a long list of good friends I have met in the lifestyle. I have a long list of good habits I have developed because of the lifestyle.  I am at peace with who I am. Sometimes I feel bad for people who choose to judge what they do not understand but then I remember "we all get to make our own choices" and I get straight back to having my fun.  what I do I do for me, just like every other person on LesbianPersonals, and when I get what I seek inevitably at least one or many other people get what they want as well...  that is what I call WIN WIN... We have been in the lifestyle for 15 years and the ONE thing that keeps us in it is the PEOPLE. Once you cut through the cheats, fakes, liars and all out weirdo's you find the real people - the ones who can be themselves and have a good time without all the drama and BS. As J mentions - honesty is a BIGGIE! We'll also add RESPECT. Couples who have achieved a level of communication and trust that allows them to look at the lifestyle are far beyond couples who cannot talk to each other about sex, fantasizes, wants & desires. Just because you're in the lifestyle doesn't mean everyone wants to have sex with you - or that all you're looking for is sex. Having respect for yourself, your significant other (if you have one) and those you meet is just as important in the lifestyle as it is out. If you're cheating on your spouse, you have no respect for them or for yourself. We know couples where the wife or husband is allowed to play - and how wonderful is that when your spouse recognizes your desires and is so comfortable in the relationship it's ok! We soooo value the friends we've made in the lifestyle. There comes a time when your vanilla friends are rather boring. But - when we are with our lifestyle friends life is never boring
