Not so common?

I always have and always will extend the small common courtesies that don't seem to be so common anymore. I notice more and more often that if you get to a door first and hold it open with a smile for someone, young or old, male or female, they are legitimately surprised and sometimes even don't know what to say. Usually though after that flash of surprise in their faces, you get a lovely smile back and a thank you. More than enough payback for a very simple gesture. Make common courtesy common again!
