To Go or Not To Go, Was It Even In Question? Sharing a fond memory... I was speaking one afternoon into the evening with a special friend, missing her more and more and wishing I could see her to spend some time together and show her exactly how much I was missing her  The problem was I had something going on that night and wouldn't be able to go for a visit till likely after midnight. We went back and forth for hours, could I, should I, was that just crazy, after all it was an hour drive on top of the late timing... Finally, as I was on my way to my previous engagement, I said I really wish I could see you but this is a bit crazy, we'll have to wait for another time. I knew she was very disappointed, but was ok with it. We were out of touch for about an hour and a half while I was busy. When I got out at 11 I was very happy to find she was still awake to chat. We started chatting again as I drove, I made small talk, asking if she was tired, asking how her night was going... Trying to get a sense if it was too late for a change of plans. Still driving while talking, I finally asked if it would still be ok for me to visit. I think she was a little caught off guard, but said of course, come on over. I said that's great, cause I'm already about a third of the way there and had no intentions of turning back! And my special lady made VERY sure it was SOOOOOO worth the trip!!!Looking back, as much as I tried to convince myself it was crazy and to just wait till the next time we visited, I now see there was no way I was not going to visit that night! |
