What makes a good blog?

Should a blog be laid back and fun or forthright and opinionated?

I've got mixed opinions and it really depends on the subject matter.

Thoughts?

A good blog is talking about HOT SEX, don't you think?

agree that folks can blog about whatever they want...tired of all the "I cant get any" blogs...also notice gibberish blogs that folks bang out just to pursue a free membership or to get their profile out...there are the flamers/trolls/ and others inciting others, certainly there are insipid blogs - usually a female getting attention and then the thousand guys whom trip over-themselves responding positively to inane points/issue..only saying - cuz sometimes, when we are in the blogging mood, the recent posts are just crap, and its a downer.

the blogs we enjoy have a clear point, they seek to entertain - funny, or thought provoking, or informative and are well written. maybe a good blog is not so much the blog itself, but the blogger - while its nice to get a comment back to a response on a blog, some op simply have to have the last word - we try not to get caught up in that. some bloggers post stuff, invite a discussion, but really only want their point of view - or worse, when you reply a counter point, their response is "I know that.." - so if you know what the response is likely to be, why blog in the first place?

we also see a blog as an extension of the person. a window to their thoughts, if we are interested in a profile, we will check out their blogs, if any, hoping it will give us a more insight to what make them tick.
