Virtual Symposium On “Inspiration (what inspires us to)” What inspires me? That can open up a whole can of worms, or whoopass as the situation dictates. I get inspired by Love. Wanting it, getting it, finding it, sharing it. The whole acceptance thing of taking me for who I am and not what you are wanting me to be. Taking others on the same level field. Unconditional love. The kind your gives you, where he is always happy to see you no matter if you had a good month moneywise or not. I get inspired by Sex, which is not necessarily Love. When sex is good I am good, when it's not, well I get inspired to try harder so to speak. And when there's none, like lately, I really get inspired to find some. I get inspired at the gym. Watching all those yummy women working out inspires me to try harder and thus more sexual inspiration. Thinking that maybe this dirty old man may have a chance after all. I get inspired by Free Thinkers. Those who think outside the box. The folks that are ballsy enough to try something new and not care about what the others think. I'm thinking Wright Brothers, Edison, the person who made the first variable speed vibrator. What they have done is taken a chance and made the world more pleasurable for us. I get inspired by nature. All the changes in seasons. I get inspired by Spring Fever and knowing that Winter is finally over and all the women will start wearing less I get inspired by the wannabes who parade around in their fake military uniforms trying to be someone they are not. This behavior inspires me into Whoopass mode. I get inspired by sitting around an open firepit with friends, drinking good scotch and solving the world's problems, or at least the ones at work. I get Whoopass inspiration when I read about another person either abusing their or their spouse. I keep hoping they throw them in jail with Big Bubba as their cellmate and him looking at them saying "I likes you". I could go on and on, but the coffee is low and now I am inspired to start another pot. Whatever your inspiration is, go for it. My name is Dean and I am an Inspiring Blogoholic. |

Your inspiration of "whoopass" on bad parents or abusers in general, is an interesting one. I like the fact that you seem inspired by so much. Interesting take on inspiration -- that it can be both a source of uplifting as well as, shall we say, our more base instincts. But you're right: One can be "inspired" to pain a masterpiece or just put a fist through a canvas... occasionally, I'd bet, by the same catalyst. Good to have you aboard as a symposium participant!
