New aff policies for standard members

What do you think of LesbianPersonals's new policies towards non-gold members of only allowing gold members to be able to read emails nor respond to emails
against
for it

It's total bullshit !!

I, like others on here I'm sure, have a lot of friends who are standard members, and now we can't even communicate with them anymore.

It's sure one fine mess !!!

oh and do you trust any of these types of site with you c card especially if they have already had to acknowledge they were breached by hackers

I am totally against it, its BS really. I have several standard members that I will no longer be able to contact other than the IM and which is another absolute failure for this site. I have been a member on here off and on for several years. My days are becoming more increasingly numbered on this site.

The problem. or changes, doesn't effect just standard members but paid members also. I have a lot of friends that are standard, none of them are like that because they can't afford it, but simply for principle.
I guess a lot of us will move over to POF, which isn't any better than Craiglist

Now here's an interesting thought: the obvious work around to this is the blogs. You can always post to someone's blog that you're interested, and blog owners can set up posts that have 'private' responses... Many bloggers already have these (though usually for different reasons).... So what happens if those lovely people at LesbianPersonals start to charge for blogs, or only allow paying members to read/respond to the posts.... THAT will kill this site!

Here's a way to voice your opinion effectively courtesy of Wordsmith6900 Reposting for wordsmith6900.

Do You Want To EFFECTIVELY Complain About The Standard Members Losing Their Email Privileges????

.

DISCLAIMER: This Blog post is in no way an attempt at incitement. The information supplied here is correct, factual, and available to anyone accessing this web site.

I've been a member of this site since May of 2003.

I've been writing a Blog here since February 28, 2005, although I was reading and commenting on other member's Blogs for at least 6 months before then.

Over the entire time I've been here, I've seen many changes ... some for the better, some not so good ... but, a few of them, that have been so outrageous and upsetting by their nature, caused a majority of the members here on the Blogs to rise up in a united voice of protest and firmly say, "NO FUCKING WAY ARE WE GOING TO STAND FOR THIS!!!"

... And guess what? The Powers-That-Be reversed those "changes" back to the way things were.

How did the Blogging Community do it, you may be asking ... especially if you've only been here for 2 years or less?

Did we write Blogs about it? Yes.
Did we call the Customer Service telephone number? Yes.

--- BUT ---

Those things were effective before December 2007 when the site was sold because Andrew actually read and communicated with us through his own Blog, the email on his profile, and occasionally he would actually talk to people on the CS line!

During the years that the 'Evil Empire' was in control of making the site worse, there was actually a paid employee out in Sunnyvale to directly interact with the Blogging Community. First it was Ryan, and when he left, Aryana took over.

They were both as helpful as they could be ... but neither of them had a position of 'horsepower', or should I say they did not have the authority to make decisions about complaints. They could only 'pass them up the ladder'.

Several 'changes' that were 'attempted' back then were met with floods of Blog posts and emails to Ryan or Aryana, as well as telephone calls to Customer Service.

Again, the sheer volume of those was enough to get the 'Evil Empire's' top brass to issue orders of 'policy changes' back to what they were.

At the very end of December, 2013, when Andrew re-acquired ownership and control of the sites, he was once again posting on his Blog and there was a period of about 6 months after that when he would still interact with the Blogging Community ... but even through that 6 month period of time, his posts became fewer, as did his responses to comments.

His final few Blog posts have since been deleted, especially the one about one of the main servers that contained all of the member's profile pictures failing and his 'premature' assurance to everyone that all of them would be restored ... 9 days before MOST of them were! All that got him were several THOUSAND additional angry and/or vulgar language-laced comments!

Which brings us to the present day's 'site policy change' ... or is it 'brain-fart'?

Many from the Blogging Community have already written Blog posts in the 24+ hours since it was 'un-announced' and found to be in effect ... and I'm certain from the content of those posts that many have called the Customer Service telephone number to complain, as well.

We'll have to wait awhile to see what the level of activity may be on the Site Support Blog, as their reduced presence has now become a matter of routine.

--- BUT ---

So ... how does one go about complaining 'effectively' in the present about something that the majority of stakeholders involved agree is 'dumber-than-dog-shit', and is equally intolerable for both Standard and Premium members?

At the bottom left of every page on every site is the "Corporate" link ... *left click* on it.

On the top of the first page that comes up, *left click* on "About Us", and then on the left side of that brief history, *left click* on "Senior Management".

There is no one higher in authority than Andrew Conru, Ph.D., Chairman and Founder, and Jonathan Buckheit, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer.

Going back to the left of their pictures and bios, *left click* on "Contact Us".

Both a toll-free and direct main telephone number are listed there to bypass the 'third-world' Customer Service operators and put you right in touch with the Corporate switchboard, on-site in Campbell, California.

Ask to be connected to either of them, by name.

Chance are you'll be connected to one of their Secretaries, for screening and scheduling purposes.

If you are unable to get past them, ask to be connected to their voice-mail or leave a message with the Secretary.

Exploring the other sections of the "Corporate" link will provide the basic email address to both of them that will need to be prefaced by their first initial and last name with no characters or spaces between them, should anyone wish to do so.

As always, with everything I post on my Blog, anyone can 'spread the word' of what should be a highly 'effective' form of a Customer Complaint

And, one does not even need to be a registered member of these sites to access the "Corporate" link information. It is a Federal requirement for all web sites that are operationally accessible in the United States of America to provide that informational link.

Kind of ironic that when i was "awarded" a temp gold membership, not only did it not improve things, at the end i received a bunch of emails from bot couples LesbianPersonals claims it does not have. Now, i could not reply to them if they were real.

As a standard member, I have no say in what the site does or doesn't allow. I think that if a gold member wants to start a conversation with a standard member, the conversation should be allowed. After all a gold member has paid for that privilege. I did like the idea of being able to use my points to view profiles and send messages but if LesbianPersonals decided that non paying members can't do that, so be it. The ones that should be pissed are the paying members that can't gain full access to the whole site.

It is simply another way of shaking people down for their money. It creates a "class system" . IM feature is shaky at best for communication and they want it that way.

just a thought, maybe the new policies will help with the fakes and flakes here. lots posing as females and cheaters. we do get sick of the single guys sending mail and paging. those who want guys single or cheaters will seek them. we have been paid member for many years, yes there are bad things about the site, but we keep looking, lol. the worst thing is non replies to mail. hoping for improvements.

As a standard member, I could live with not being able to read profiles or look at others pics and videos. I still went ahead and shared mine, which made me new friends and had conversations and friendships through the Message Center. With the top fan option, I was also able to start conversations with other standard members. Now that this is no longer an option, except if I upgrade, I consider this being blackmailed into paying. Also ticked me off that no notice of this change was given, so people could respond before it went into effect and give the company a chance to change their mind.

I was a gold member for five years before I went to being a standard member. I thought the points game was interesting now I don't get points for logging in each day so I don't make a point of doing so. Little by little LesbianPersonals is taking access away so it shouldn't be long before the membership will only include fake members and gold members. Then the gold members will disappear too.
