I agree with Recalcitrant72's first point. It all depends on the rules and expectations in the relationship. I think forming a sexual attachment to someone else without your partner's permission can be emotionally damaging to your partner, but the worst aspect of it is exposing your partner to a level of risk they did not consent to.

[image]Cheating implicitly means dishonesty. If the marriage is an open marriage, then it's understood either partner has permission to indulge in other relationships. Or one may grant the other a "hall pass." And of course, there are swingers, and each couple can have a unique set of rules for that. In each case, it's all about honesty. My wife and I have an open marriage and inform each other of our outside relationships, usually -but not always- before indulging,
