Sadly your question is almost one in the same. A FB usually turns into a FWB because occasionally one of the FBs begins to have feelings for the other as friends tend to care about one another to a degree. And thats when the problems begin because once one of you has feelings and they arent reciprocated... Houston we have a problem. So it's a tough question to answer but a FB would be better if feelings stay out of it.

fwb is not only your friend that you can discuss anything with but you can make love to as well, fb is just to see someone to fuck on occasions nothing more nothing less, so if you looking just to fuck then fb is your best option, if you want someone to be your friend, fuck, and tell all your secrets to and discuss life then you can choose a fwb. my choice would be a fwb because i want her to be my best friend as well as to make love to her and we can both be happy with what we have found in each other

I guess the two terms are often used interchangeably; to me, an FB would have to be someone you just fuck, then leave, until you meet again, then repeat. An FWB would be a bit more than that - somebody you can have conversations with and perhaps even go out and do fun stuff with, without actually being in a relationship. As for which one I prefer - it depends on the person and my chemistry with them. In most cases, I'd probably prefer an FWB type of situation over an FB.

Actually, I see no difference in a fuck buddy or friend with benefits as long as I get to have him as often as possible. I have always enjoyed my "midnight callers" who just stop over announced or unannounced to play for a couple of hours or the rest of the night.
