 Yeah, folk can't help building up emotions in to this situation. And neither of them will end up feeling the same. So inevitably some one will get hurt.

But what is a better solution?

i think that if it starts of as FWB and there is an understanding, along the way if it becomes more because it organically happens that way and BOTH parties are willing to continue to see where it goes, that's what should happen...i mean...there is no "formula."

 Understanding and communication of expectations is essential. Sure, it can develop into something different but if the communication is true and honest in the beginning than a FWB situation can work and be beneficial to each.

 blunt honesty from the beginning. Showing as many cards as possible about desires. After that its all downhill, you may not end up on the sled together, but you might. Sharing feelings regardless of consequences helps alot. Sharing. I would rather hear honesty anyday than for someone to hold back, both positive and or negative.
