One thing I consider a bad thing, if not an outright violation, is those stupid disclaimers stating that no one has the right to use your profile for research. First, they began as a scam to get nude pics back in the day, Second, they mean nothing. Anything that can be accessed without a password is fair game for any researcher. The site's parent company can also give researchers access to anything by anybody on this site and no stupid disclaimer is going to stop the.

I do this sort of thing for a living, so I know this sort of stuff. Whenever I see a disclaimer on a man's profile, it's an automatic, I don't go any farther, it's an automatic no.

I raise my hand to being one of those dumb people with the disclaimer!

I placed that on my profile when I first created it and someone sent me a message suggesting to add it. If figured it would hurt and if it didn't work and I found my face or information on some doctorial thesis, I'd hope they were rich because I'd have some choice words for them.

Thank you for the information! I appreciate it.

I agree about men using other people's pictures in general but certainly using female pictures for the sole purpose of conning other men is a violation. LesbianPersonals should not allow members posting pictures of people other than themselves to enter contests. That violates the spirit of the contest. I will view a male profile repeatedly because the profile picture is so appealing but in viewing the profile he is undesirable or clearly fake because the other pictures don't match. Its unintentional and not stalking

I hope that I am not getting repeated views and no responses because I am unattractive or some think I'm fake!

For me, I place generic photos on the profile as open, but have additional folders or albums for "friends". If you are interested enough to interact with me, I can show you full facial photos, some in various types of dress (suit, formal, athletic, etc.)

Maybe I need to join a gym, huh?

Thank you for your response!

Everything on your list is true. However, there's one thing I'd like to clarify: this site is much more than a 'sex site'. In reality, it is unique social networking site with strong sexual undertones.
People join A*F*F for great variety of reasons and every reason is valid. It is such a mixed bag here... One can find all kids on this site, from exhibitionists/voyeurs to people seeking 'one true love', from swingers to polygamists, from people who don't want to meet anyone and only here for blogs to serial daters, etc, etc...
The trick is to find someone(s) who share same interests and have same goals.

That said, there are some unsavory characters who either don't care about our boundaries or like to push and see how far they can go.

I totally agree with your posting.

I have made some very good friends (real ones, not some electronic click with no interaction) on this site. One thing remains true is people's perception is everything.

The site is actually what you make it to be. It may not be as graphic as ALT or tame as some of it's other sister sites, but this is very "SEXUALY ORIENTED SITE". I believe he disconnect is how the message is received along with the perceptions and expectations of the users on the site.

I can make acquaintances anywhere I go, because I am very social, albeit private many ways. So I look at this medium with the same rules and decorum that I would any in person interaction.

Respect is a given and respect is the ONLY expectation I have in return.

You're so correct. FIND YOUR FLAVOR AND ENJOY IT!
