I don't know about the rest of you, but I get so sick of having to scrutinize every profile I look at on this site, trying to figure out if the pictures posted are of someone who really lives in my area, or if they came off another site (i.e.: porn, television actresses, movies actresses). It's ridiculous that some people feel that they can get away with such false representation. It has gotten so bad, that I will not meet anyone, unless they show me themselves on a web cam first. I guess we've created this... living life through the Internet, giving ourselves and others the ability to hide behind a computer screen, but somewhere a line has to be drawn.
I really feel bad for the "victims" out there. Desperate souls that only crave for another person's attention. They make contact with another member, and are overwhelmed that someone that "attractive" is actually talking to them. When they finally arrange a meeting, they are faced with the awful truth.
I realize that I sound bitter, as if I have been "victimized". I never have, but it came close, when I first started going online. Luckily, I am the type of person that has the ability to see through the bullshit. (I have to in my line of work).
I ask each of you out there, while you are browsing through the profiles and you come across pictures that you recognize, please report them. You wouldn't want to become a "victim" yourself. I'm pretty sure that if you went to meet someone for the first time, and discovered them to actually be some 400lb slob, you'd be mighty pissed. (Unless you're actually into that sort of thing.)
Well, I'm gonna roll up my pants now... and start wading through. Hopefully I won't get any crap on my shoes.
