I will not join groups with the word alpha male. For it is something you are, not something you get by pressing a button or change the nickname. The alpha males I studied for my psychological interest, is just "alpha". Beta Alpha is too eager to say they are the alpha.
I believe myself to be much less alpha than my ego wants to admit. It has been with the boy remain in my ego. Crucial is a secure upbringing, where a natural genes can develope. With male role models that are calm, can give discipline, love and learn the boy control and reflection. It is actually contrary to the bad boy ideals. My childhood was the opposite. I met an officer that I had in the military as Costal Ranger, he said the best soldier and the policeman, who he saw as the alpha was not the man who ran with t-shirt and showed the muscles.
A calm man from the countryside a natural security from childhood , who went away for a week out of the wilderness and fishing. This is a generalization. Anyway he do not react to the labels for others and mee.
