Cuava Del Indios

One of my neighbors has been pestering me to tack he to Cuava Del Indios near Aracibo. The walls of the cave are covered in petroglyphs with a hole in the floor where the sea water rushes in and out with the waves. The coast there is gorgeous, about a two hour drive from the east coast of PR. She's five to ten years older than me and clearly not agile but not badly overweight. I knew the terrain would be a challenge for her but with some help the made it to the entrance of the cave. It was a different story when she saw the approach to the ladder down into the cave, she flatly refused told me to go ahead while she sat down to wait. I went in for a few minutes just to avoid any unease she might feel bringing me here for nothing, then exited the cave through a narrow passage. From there I brought her to the large holes in the roof of the cave so she could get a better look in. The coast line basically just cliffs to deep water, quite dramatic. In calm seas some cliff diving is possible but getting back out can be difficult, it's not for beginners, or me, just too many things to go wrong. The most beautiful part is an arching natural bridge perhaps a hundred feet high over the water to what is basically a pillar in the sea. She did go far enough to get a nice view of it. After a beer at a seaside bar she was leaning on my shoulder. On the way back I took her through San Turce to see the murals painted on the buildings there, it turned out to be a stroll down memory lane for her more than an art exhibit. Soon she was treating me to Pizza at an old U.P.R. hangout. I dropped her off at the front of the building then went to park the car. My phone rang "I left my news paper in your car, will you please bring it by my apartment?" Of course I will.

El Yunque summit

New years day I decided to set a fitness benchmark. I chose a popular, but not overcrowded trail to the summit of El Yunque, a distance of about 2.6 miles and elevation rise a little less than 1400 feet. The trail is relatively well maintained, which is to say there is no deep mud or landslides obscuring the trail. There are rugged areas with slippery rocks and mud with a few trees down. With a little cardio and muscular training the time of 53 minutes would be easy to beat, but I think core body temp is the real barrier.
A couple of days later, I went to San Juan hoping to gain the favor of a woman I've had my eye on, no luck. Driving back it was clear and the summit of El Yunque was not in the clouds. Why not, I'll just pop up there and maybe get a few nice pictures. Not trying to set a record I was surprised how much easier the 57 minute time was. Of course it should be no surprise the clouds rolled in, oh well it is called a cloud forest. I'm not a runner but thought I'd see how much of the downhill I could jog. It didn't take long for my back to start feeling it, I know it's not a great idea to run with a backpack, but I still want to improve that ability. In life balance is everything, and since I don't want to screw up my back, I stopped running. On the way down most people are happy to stop and let me scoot by, but two young women simply ignored the fact that I was on their heels. After a while it almost seemed rude, but they were keeping an ok pace and weren't bad looking, so I just watched their butts for a while. Eventually one asked the other how much longer it would take, I said they were making good time and would be down before long. "Good we got an uber to the forest but there's no phone service to get a ride back." I was surprised ow quickly they accepted my offer of a ride. It turned out only to be a ride but one woman was raised in China, and I would have liked to hear her thoughts on China, and America over a beer.

So you want to meet a man.

So you want to meet a man. How hard could that be? Would you be here if exactly the guy are looking for was hanging around every produce isle? But basically men are simple beasts to reel in, if that's what you really want to do. I think most women that just want to reel in men have a pretty good idea of how to go about it.

So you want to meet a man, but not just any man. You have standards??? Good! Only one question, are they the standards that will serve you best? And I'm not talking about self-serving. It's not a question I need the answer to, it's a question to honestly ask yourself. Right so it's a beefcake with brains and money you want, great! Be careful of the heartless ones.

Would you be happy with even a brief liaison, with a man for whom you have no feelings? The answer doesn't matter. It's not a moral question but a matter of personal preference. There is no right or wrong to it. Which brings up the question, would you always feel the same way about it? That is to say might there be times when such feelings would be irrelevant, and other times when they would be paramount?

The real question is shall we delve deeper into the subject.
