This is my spin on the last stanza of this magnificently crafted piece of art from Edgar Allan Poe:

Reluctantly my soul relenting, out I go now unrepenting

Gently rapping, faintly tapping unsuspecting strangers doors

Searching out all souls who need me - sustaining life as they now feed me

Noting fear from all who heed me, knocking on their chamber door

Through the darkness there you’ll find me – minding to the chains that bind me

To the life that now confines me - imprisoned there forevermore ….
