Sometimes things happen and I have to take a second look at it to see if I misinterpreted it or not. I've been having a lot of those moments lately. The smallest misunderstandings or mis-communications can blow up to be so much more than it should be. It's frustrating and does nothing to improve the mood. Anywho, I think a bit of alone time is in order to sort things out in my head so I've put myself in time out. Anyone wanna sneak me some smiles?

The girls got invited to a "Snow Ball" last night which was a dance hosted by a woman in my parent's religion. I actually work with her and like her as a person. Although I do not go to their church any more and haven't since I was last forced around 17 or so, I don't have a problem with my mother taking the midgets on Sundays if they want to go with the idea that learning new things isn't bad, sitting still isn't bad, socializing isn't bad, and learning what Grammy believes also not so bad. Most of the time they want to go and have a good time. They know what I believe and I tell them to make up their own minds about stuff, not to blindly follow something because someone they love believes it. It's personal. Anywho, I digress a bit. Point being I know most of the people there and most of them are really decent human beings. They don't swear, don't do drugs or drink (at least not in public ), and generally look out for one another. My mother could not attend this dance as she was down south with my youngest brother, but she arranged to have the midgets picked up so that they could attend. Friday while I was sleeping the girl that was to drive the midgets stopped by to introduce herself and Pater Familias gave her my phone number so she could call when I was awake to finalize the arrangements. Cue Saturday evening. No phone call, the girls have been in their dresses waiting for an hour. It's now 6:00. Party starts at 6:30 about 20 minute drive from my house. *sigh PF woke me up to ask what should happen now. I start calling around. No one knows the girl's number or I get voice mail/answering machines. I call my dad to see if he's going, he is, but can't pick up the girls 'cause he has food to bring and only 3 seats... Finally I just decide to drive the girls to the party to see what's the issue. If they changed their mind, whatever, I dunno. I prepare the midgets that they may just have to come back home with me. We get there, Drama Queen and I go in and I have her find who I will call Teenie for this little dialogue. Teenie swears she called "like 10 times" and got no answer. I ask her the number she called. Not even close. Okay... I'm thinking stopping by would have been a good idea, but whatever. She seems excited to see that the girls made it so I ask her if she still wants them to attend. She says yes...but she only has 3 seats in her car. Would have been useful information to have earlier. My dad comes out and I ask him if he can bring one girl home. Acting all put out he whines about how far out of his way it is. I ask if they could do a quick poll as I know a lot of the people there are travelling towards me and it wouldn't be out of the way for them. Yep, quick as can be they find a ride! So the girls are all psyched as hell, I'm glad it was just a mix up, and I can try to get some more sleep before work. As I'm dropping the two smallest one's car seats in the coat room my dad asks me who's supposed to be in charge of the girls while they're there. Uh,Teenie...though it'd be nice if you could I dunno, just keep an eye out and make sure no one escapes the building or something...being that they're your grandkids...and you um...love them and stuff... I said nothing except that Teenie had wanted them there so I guess it'd most likely be her, but maybe the look on my face gave what I was feeling away. Anywho, yeah, my dad, real feeling loving...whatever. So anywho, I get home a bit wound up over the fiasco, try to sleep, can't. The Wee One and Cinderella come home. Cinderella is in tears and shaking she is so mad. Apparently right after I left some fucking cunt decides to say loudly in front of her something about how I'm a shit mother 'cause I dropped off my and didn't stay myself and wasn't going to bring them home. Now I could care less about what others think about me if I don't care about them personally, but Cinderella on the other hand is VERY protective of me. She knows first hand what a real shit mother is like and let the cunt have it! She told her to NOT talk about her mother like that and that she didn't know what she was talking about. She tells me she wanted to punch her in the head. Some other people saw Cinderella crying from this and so consoled her. Apparently Teenie was going to take the midgets home right then as I guess this one person hates and spews hatred wherever she goes. Some of the people in charge talked to the nasty piece of work and she got reprimanded or some such thing, but what the fuck? SHE was NOT in charge of the party, just an attendee. SHE was NOT asked in any way to watch the midgets or bring them home. SHE had NOTHING to do with any of it, had no idea that it was a planned thing that got a bit confuzzled, yet felt the need to spew hatred and discontent. At any rate, it ruined Cinderella's time. I don't know who this woman is. I'm going to find out though. I feel she needs to apologize to Cinderella for making her feel unwelcome and awkward at something that should have been a lot of fun for everyone. I don't know what this woman was thinking, but you NEVER put down someone's parents in front of them. Very untypical for the majority of people in that religion and she put them all to shame.
Anywho, what would you say to this woman if they were your midgets?

Don'tcha hate it when you're craving chocolate in the worst way, yet the midgets have claimed the last of the clearance chocolate and going to the store in your jammies isn't appealing to you, but you don't wanna get dressed 'cause you're supposed to be sleeping, but you just can't 'cause of the cramps? Me too.

Remember the drama from right before Christmas? Oh the weather outside isn't the only frightful thing Well Pater Familias and I got subpoenaed to go to a hearing next Wednesday morning. State V The Boy. According to the officer that dropped off the paperwork there were 5-6 incidents concerning The Boy within a very short period of time. I heard about some of them on the grape vine, and guessed at some of the others via the local newspaper that because he's a minor only puts some info not identifiable...unless you know what to look for. At any rate it's to get him taken away from his Grandmother and placed in a residential juvenile facility by the sounds of it. The officer also told us that his Grandmother also has been in and out of the hospital due to cancer. Being the cyber sleuth that I am, I found out that it's lung cancer. Woman smokes like a chimney, I'm not surprised. I don't feel bad about that. I'm not sure if that makes me a terrible person or not, but I do believe in Karma. It's not something I'd wish on anybody I guess...at least I don't think I would...but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it or shed a tear for her. She put Cinderella and The Boy through too much to feel any sympathy. I worry about PF 'cause he smokes. I worry about my friends that smoke. But adults make their own choices. *Shrugs Anywho, it'll be interesting to hear what some of the other stuff is if we get to listen to stuff before we have to testify. I actually do hope that The Boy gets help. I think he's a sociopath though, so I don't hold out much hope for that. Certainly didn't get a good start in life, and has been making all the wrong choices for quite some time now. On a similar note, Rotten Bastard may have shot himself in the foot with his desires for The Boy to be able to be around the girls thing. Same court house. Clearly NOT a good influence to have around impressionable . Father clearly NOT in control of shit. I dunno, can't look too good from a judges point of view right? That hearing is scheduled for the same day as the Support hearing. Gawd, did I mention how much I hate waiting? Anywho, I found the perfect gift for The Queen Of No Pants Birthday! A wee bike just her size on clearance for under $30! She's going to be so psyched! We gave out her invitations at school Wednesday and her "BFF"'s mom talked to me and said she's going to be there for sure. Gotta get the Spring cleaning done before the party so I'm starting that Monday morning. Not too much to do really, just tossing some stuff out, moving the furniture and shampooing the carpets, washing down the walls and maybe rearranging the bookshelves. It's going to feel great to have that all done! Gonna rain all weekend anyways and Monday so might as well be productive. Anywho, another weekend of work ahead of me. Whatcha'll doing this weekend? Let me live vicariously.

Rotten Bastard got served today via certified mail, and so as predicted ran down to the court house to write up a complaint of his own and served me with it this afternoon. In my paperwork that I filled out it asks if we tried to correct the issue through a mediator first. I wrote that he refused to discuss it and threatened to take me back to court to modify the parent contact if I filed for support. Guess he proved that to them! He of course lied and said that I refuse to let the girls see him. (Funny cause when he stopped by to deliver the paper to me I put Wee One's coat and boots on so she could go outside and say hello and I had The Queen of No Pants with me already. ) And states that he wants the court to look into letting The Boy have contact with the girls. He has chosen not to visit them in over 2 months. I've offered. Clearly his motivation to complain to the court was revenge based. He agreed to and signed the restraining order against The Boy, it's not as if it was something he didn't agree to and was forced to comply with against his will. Jack ass. While I'm not overly worried that the court will in any way side with him or believe him, it's still a bit stressful to have to go in front of a judge and air out all the dirty laundry so to speak, not to mention defend myself against the lies he's sure to tell. I'm all prepared though so I know I've done all that I can do and just have to wait and see what happens. I hate waiting.
Cinderella calls RB her sperm donor. I have no idea where she came up with that, but it's pretty apt. The almost nightly phone call at the insistence of RB's GF consists of 3 statements. "I just called to say I love you, sweet dreams and good night. Let me talk to your sister." Rinse and repeat. His calls last a maximum of 3 minutes unless Wee One starts her "Guess what....Dad, guess what....Guess what....Dad, guess what...I don't remember." Or someone is spacing off at the television and forgets to hand the phone to another . *sigh... still waiting...
Alrighty, better try and get some sleep for work iffin I can.

I downloaded a cool collage maker and had a lot of fun putting together a bunch of pictures of me from the past 3 years including a couple from when I did have long hair. It's called Picasa 3 if anyone wants to do it too. Maybe that won't get edited... Anywho, I'm going to make some of the midgets later and put 'em on the face place.

I've had short hair now for about 3 years. And now I'm at a stand still trying to decide whether I want to grow it back out, or keep cutting it short. I like the ease of shorter hair, but I kinda miss being able to braid it and do the pig tails thing too. Gah, I'm no fashion queen! I have no idea what to do with myself most days. Impromptu poll for the guys and the gals:
Short hair or long hair and why.

If you were naked and your home was on fire, would you take the time to get dressed before escaping? I'm sure there are a ton of hard choices that have to be made quickly that lead to embarrassment. Any stories?
