When I did a search for Erotica Related Groups in Winnipeg, there wasn't one. So I created this group, "Erotica in Winnipeg". As there are many forms of what may be called 'erotica', one way of describing what may be common to all forms of erotica is that which involves and brings a 'Refined and Elevated Aesthetic' to our experience as sexual beings. There are a few forms already in well established circulation. Literature, for example, is one. Photography and film, of course, are other mainstream vehicles for it. How will "Erotica in Winnipeg" play out? I'm not sure. But I know that I am not the only person here who wants more than what most people call 'porn'. I know because my playmates are more than happy to let me take the kinds of images I take, most of which do not fit the 'personal profile photo' criteria. Maybe an Erotic Book Club will be one way to express our collective appreciation; getting together once a month or so to discuss a previously selected book, or to share and read our own erotic writings. That might actually be more fun. Or perhaps a blend of both. . . In this age of digital cellphone-cameras, it seems that everybody is now a 'Photographer'. And in this 'Youtube' generation, it seems that everyone is also now a pornstar. So I'm sure "Erotica in Winnipeg" can serve as a forum for those wanting to find photographers, or those wanting to find models. But seeing as everyone is already a photographer or a pornstar, maybe this group will best serve the community by announcing gallery openings, or photography exhibits, either at a gallery or at a private residence.
