Hike to Mt. Tamalpais

Took a 6 hour hike today to Mt. Tamalpais in Marin, California--a part of the Golden Gate National Park. The SF Hiking Club sponsored the hike, so there were some 18 people.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous. Warm at 60 degrees, bright sunshine, no wind, no fog, not a cloud in the sky. About a 7 mile hike. The scenery was gorgeous--every inch picture post card perfect.

There's nothing like a hike with a group of people. Especially one so ambitious as that one.

This is a photo of an Oak tree--maybe 100 years old, or older. Since my hospitalization for cancer, I have a greater appreciation for mystical element of the tree. What it is they represent. Establishing a relationship between the human and the sky, reminding the human the need for the tree for shade, protection, food, and estabblishment of that relationship...

My tree is always bent, Sandra... Would you care to straighten it out--if you catch my drift...
