I agree, your soul, spirit your inner self, whatever the term you would like to use needs healing as well. I myself have used others to bring me back from a darker place to a brighter. But I also find time alone for reflection, with music or silence being walking through nature, it refreshes the soul. What I do like is hopping on the bike, not now obviously, but just to ride, alone....just the highway and me. Hence the picture on my blog..........

This is deep and an area that you need to be considered in when exploring. At the true depth of these thoughts are your belief systems. These beliefs come from your upbringing , your religion and life experience. Occassionally , some of these beliefs take us down the wrong path and close us off from experiences or people (also sometimes they protect us). If you want to look at this from one angle , have a look at Neuro Lingusitc Programming (aka how you interact with the world). Challenge your beliefs, make sure they are working for you and not against you. And when you see a person or behaviour you do not like - step back and think where is that coming from and what is making that person lihe he/she is.... Great area to explore and opens more doors than closes

I don't think it's silly at all to find someone, something that helps you delve into area's that bother your soul. I think at times, people ridicule the things they don't understand or believe in, without actually trying it. I've always been pretty good at soul searching, and working things through my head and soul. It's one of the reasons, I like to spend a day or two alone at the beach every month. It's where I heal. Yes, it makes sense to want to heal your mind as well as your body. We all crave for a healthier mind, body and soul.

This makes sense to me. Around this time two years ago my Uncle's health declined significantly, almost without warning cancer spread throughout his body. He died shortly after the new year. Shortly thereafter my son-in-law died suddenly from a heart condition, only 30 years old. Then around this time last year same thing happened to my father. His health declined rapidly over the holidays and passed shortly after the new year. So I am more reflective this time as the holiday season approaches. How quickly life can be taken, and how to utilize whatever time I may have left. Good luck on your journey.

I have found that the search for mindfulness and faith in a higher power to be an ongoing journey, with lots of help from professionals, friends, and family, as well as reading and meditation. But it is the mindfulness and its pursuit which makes life worth living.

The first step to healing is identifying you need help. You have done that and have found a process that is working. You will know when your journey is complete.

The "flaws" you think you may have identified and are trying to understand are a big step in this process of healing . they may be nothing, just figments in your mind, they may be real. Alone time to think may help, the 'some one" you have may also help, confide in her be real, be realistic. Find some time that you can put the normal world aside and look at some of these issues. laugh at them, cry with them if needed. Try to find the things that are confusing , try to understand them and not allow these to have such a pronounced control of your life. Don't be drastic, don't move on a whim, put some serious thought into it.. You are a smart cookie, you will get it right. It is not mumbo jumbo, it is about learning and maybe even acceptance, Reflection is good but too much focus on negative reflection can led us into a bad mind set...I have been there....not good, but I found my way out too. I have also gotten some advice help too which helped me realize that my thoughts about a certain people subject may have been wrong, which helped me change my views to a better positive understanding of the persons and problem feelings Reading advice columns and self help books as also opened my thoughts about what to do, not or just to see a different view than mine..

I know exactly where you are coming from. Have done the deep introspection myself a number of years ago and got a better understanding of myself from it. I must admit, I am almost at the point where I need to do it again.

If anything this is the most important thing one must do in life... soul search. To look deep within, to find out what motivates us, moves us, pains us, causes us to love, and gives us joy. I know from experience that it just may take us all a lifetime to get there. Thoughts from the Garden...

I think it is a constant part of life. Always evaluating things, making those fine adjustments

I too have done a lot of soul searching. Mine because of the death of my wife and the impact it had on my life. I have learned that you just have to do what you want to try to deal with the changes brought about that are not in your control. For me I did a two month get away on the motorcycle. That started my healing and gave me ideas on how to deal with all of this. It helped but still not healed fully.

Healing the Soul is sometimes complicated because it depends a lot on what caused the suffering, seeking help and trying to raise and manage are important factors for having peace and happiness in the Soul!

I have been reading more about ways of healing the spirit, yeah, that mumbo jumbo stuff. I recently joined an online group, members share their experiences and what works for them, as well as healers in the group. I need to hit the library as I prefer books over scrolling pages, also researching books to purchase. There's nothing wrong with opening the mind to all possibilities. Peace comes from within and everyone is different.
