Not So Easily Understood A Poem

When I was just sad
That I had broken up
With my last lover.
When people could relate
To my emotions
Being raw.
It was easier.

They could offer empathy.
They could offer encouragement.
They could tell me
There were other fish in the sea.
They could tell me to get
Back in the saddle.
They could tell me
Time heals all wounds.
And I accepted those words
And even started to implement
A new lover search.

But now they are dealing with
Someone who has so many
Hangups and doubts.
They had no idea
They were
The surface.
But it stands to reason
That scars and their tissue
Would make an appearance.

This person they see now
She is not one that is
So easily understood
She is not someone that
Has a blank slate
She has that pain
And wears a badge
Of shame of inadequacy.

How do you deal with her?
Someone had some ideas
gloves and support
Reassurances and understanding
And when those reach inside
And she begins to believe
That there can once again
Be good to come of interaction
Those other adages
Of finding other fish
And getting back in the saddle
Can be employed
And even relished.

building code says you should bag it, take it to a eco-center where it can be analyzed and treated proper....
but most developers just dig a hole and bury it.
then go on to the next project.
there is a world of difference between insanity and stupidity
