My first experiences with D/s began with me in the submissive role which is no surprise. What I’ve discovered in my evolution is that I also have an emerging Domme/Mistress side. It’s interesting to me because I can see a correlation between that and a conscious effort to tone down what can be an intimidating personality to some. I have a very direct communication style which can be off-putting even though there is no intent to harm. Allowing my Domme side to emerge in a safe environment with the right partner is proving to provide a great outlet for me.
My submissive side, with a trusted partner, enjoys the mental escape of powerlessness. It literally takes me out of my head. Combine that with surrendering to another for the sake of mutual pleasure is the frosting on the cake so to speak. The more erotic the better.
D/s purists may say I am confused. Maybe, finding a partner is time consuming and there are so many more safety considerations in my circumstances. I am not in a hurry although I do have my days where I definitely feel impatient but that’s all a part of it too. One thing I can say is that with the little bit of experience that I have had, I find that my appreciation for the dynamics of each role has deepened and I am beginning to understand how multi-faceted I can be.
