Well, it is certainly not cool here in Cape Town

I just returned from doing a tour group of German Winemakers - met some of SA's top winemakers and had to deal with the Germans and their arrogance

These are some of Germany's top Winemakers - they left me a $120 - ZAR R900 tip for 11 days work - i think thats a tad stingy!

tips are extra and all that - just with Jan being a tight month and feb not much better - i had hoped for something a little more substantial! lol oh well, life is what it is.

Had a good trip though - met up with Karoocouple - old mates - had a lovely dinner - lots of laughs and good times with good mates- always a good thing - we dont play - its not that kind of friendship - Mrs Karoo isnt into me in that kinda way never was never will be - and thats cool by me because they're good friends and truly the kind of friends one needs in life!

Well, summer is blazing on - in shorts and still hot n sweaty - maybe a lil slip n slide is all thats missing lol

ANYWAY

so life is going on - nothing too dramatic to talk about - my main touring for the year starts tomorrow - the beginning of my first national tour for the year - have been doing some local work up until now.

as for Mrs CW and I - all a bit confusing right now - further complicated by someone on here cutting and pasting the blog onto an email to Mrs CW -

as i said - life remains complicated and i remain somewhat confuddled.

OK since stopping smoking I have packed on too many pounds - not too sure how many but a trouser size larger in 4 or 5 months it is - time to lose weight - who wants to help get me slim, trim and fit thru a vigorous regime of nookie several times a day?

Hee hee - now to see who responds - and the comments they post. (I am rather hoping for a serious invite I dare say)

Im about to start a serious slow down in eating as my metabolism is a LOT slower than it was when I was a smoker so time to adjust and get back into a healthy eating routine like I had a few years back before I met Mrs CW and her Crohnes disease - looking forward to it

I also - most wont know this - decided that last year was stopping smoking year and this year is get the bod back year - first half is done now the other tricky one - getting fit and normal sized again - also something Im looking forward to!

Well, my holiday is almost at an end - I dropped my off at their Moms and drove back yesterday (they live 400km away - 250 miles) - the house is eerily quiet and I do rather have a significant lump in my throat as I write this - I wont get to see my sons for a few more weeks when work takes me past their home and this year will be a year where I will be away even more than last year (I did more than 120 days away from home on tours this last year) filled 4 pages of my passport too!

the good news is (albeit tainted) that they will be moving back to Cape Town this year if their mom gets a job here as their business has gone bust pretty much and coming back to CT is their best financial chance.

On the relationship front - Mrs CW and I are poles apart - havent had nookie in - probably a month or more and quite frankly Im not interested in her any more either!

The last 4 years have been a nightmare of her personal baggage and lies and deceipt - all of which I have patiently put up with in the vain hope that she would be the person I met in the beginning - it turns out that what she presented was a total lie - the person that seduced me was so far from the person she is that I actually dont see much potential for the future and will probably do the non-conflictual thing and just save and put a deposit on another rental property in the next few months and pay my share of the rent here until the lease becomes due and she can decide what she wants to do.

It hurts - and it hurts a LOT - but probably best to move on while my are young and her comparing mine to hers constantly doesnt scar them..

Well, I just got back from a 500 mile drive to fetch the - with my "stepson" (Mrs CW's little boy) who is the same age as my two "monkeys" so it was a blast - en-route we took a small detour to say hi to 4jasmine2 where she lives - we have known pone another as passing acquaintances for years so a pop in to say hi was a good thing and ncie to see her again too - she is a sweet lass to say the least!

All the same, its pandemonium - 3 boys - 1 * 5 year old and 2 * 8 year olds in the house - its a gang and I fear they might gang up on me!! lol its going to be a blast.

I was rather pleasantly surprised at my ex wife who was more than welcoming to Mrs CW's lad in her home - and for inviting for a sleepover - mature of her

Well, Im not too sure how often I will get to pop in the next few weeks

Have a goody

OK - so I have mrs CW's enjoying their school holi's with me while she works - great strategy on her behalf but anyway....

I got seriously pissed off yesterday - Mrs CW's has been here less than one week - she lives with her Dad in Tanzania - and her Dad made contact - his has been living here for more than a year - self-same father has spoken to the (8 year old ADHD affected) twice in the last year.

I wrote something about it and I got a very huffy retort from the father and his wife about how its exceedingly unfair of me to make comment like that! I mean WTF! I deleted the post and proceeded to have a stand up spat with them - I had said in the comment that he had better be carefull as his might just be adopted by me if he as so dead set against having contact with the - even if its a postcard once in a while.

Made me VERY VERY angry - I love my and could (let aone would) never do that to them.

OK - I have had my vent - its raining - Im off to get my sewing machine sorted - a setting needs to be adjusted and I am battling to get it right! also have to take Mrs CW's library books back as theyre now 3 weeks overdue (which is somehow my fault????)

My Birthday, Xmas break and other pandemonium...

OK - need to set it straight - I go back to work on the 8th of Jan - my birthday is on the 7th however - which makes me Elvis - 1 hee hee

I finished my last day oif series touring yesterday and I have a wee hangoover today.... Series tours are those package holidays and guides like me contract to do them so and so many times a year at an agreed rate - tight fisted Germans they were almost fuggall tip but hey thats life - give me Poms and Yanks any day much nicer folk all told!

Well, friday and sunday I have the last 2 days of touring for the year which is gonna be a blast - also have Mrs CW's visiting from Tanzania where she lives with her Dad - she is a sweet lass and at 12 years old is rapidly becoming a woman which is a concern - I love her like a and have my own innate fears that any parent does re dating etc she is "my little girl" and I worry (so shoot me!) - but good to have her around she is such a sweet lass and mostly devoid of the usual hysterics that go hand-in-hand with the "Boobs and Pubes" onset era!

Wish me luck - Im off on Solomon Scooter to do my errands as Mrs CW's terribly natty Renault died a death and is at the workshop so she is using my old banger in the mean time

COP 17 - the worlds environmental conscience - I was there....

The evolution of the much vaunted Kyoto Protocol is call COP - this year South Africa - tghe City of Durban to be precise is hosting it - its where governments under the auspices of the United Nations are supposed to further commit themselves to stopping the wholesale buggering up of our planet - I have just been in Durban for my marketting trip as some of you may know - and here are a few thoughts of mine with regards to the abovementioned......

Firstly - to find the public area was a raging hassle - not well signposted at all - especially for someone who doesnt live there - it is a city of 3 million people so its not some little country town

Secondly - the UN has cordoned off the main area - called it (with much fanfare) a UN zone and those of the public who would like to see exactly what is going on there CANNOT - simple - we as Joe Public have no access - we p[aid for it is taxes and we're not welcome - something smacks of dishonesty..... Im afriad I'm tired of the dishonesty and ineffectivity of the UN - they have the innately enraging habit of procrastinating about their duties until long after people have started dying etc etc due to political infighting and personal agendas - pee's me off badly and this arrongance of locking the public out of 90% of the most critical environmental decision making congress in the world - possibly so we cant observe vacilating politicians openly protecting themselves at the expense of the planet???

Lastly - the stabnds that the public are allowed to see are good - very good - opens a lot of peoples eyes as to what is possible and good to see corporate advertising of their green priducts making awareness - funnily enough though - Durban being tropical in its climate was not cold - and the amount of energy guzzling airconditioning units keep the marquees with the displys in was mind blowing - hundreds to say the least. not to mention the Co's wanting to look green and making their stands out of wood chopped out of some forest........ (very little was invasive alien tree as far as i could make out...)

Hope you read this properly - the environment is a big thing in my life and i take it seriously - we all do

Well, back after 2 weeks away - and off again tomorrow afternoon to the City of Durban for 2 days fore a marketting trip - yes we freelance guides need to market ourselves sadly! lol

all things being fair - stingy tourists are all over - maybe Im getting spoilt by big tipping American folks with generous hearts (or is that tired of tight-fisted folks from elsewhere?

Im exhausted, Mrs CW isnt exactly jumping for joy that Im back in circulation - not sure why - shall have to fathom that out later.

Time for a shower and some paperwork and prep for tomorrows trip...

Nice to read all your blogs - nice to see how many people do blog and whats gpoing on and what saucy piccies they post hee hee

Blogging again?

Well, blogland is again appealing for me - Im not sure why, but it is

Ive been reading blogs again as a few of you probably have noticed and possibly its time to start writing a few blogs again.

Well, another thing is this - its the start of summer here in the southern hemisphere - unseasonal rainshowers are keeping things damp which isnt at all bad for the veggie patch all manner of spinach, grapes, beets etc growing wild down there!

food for thought?

Chris

Ps - for those that dont know me - I do like growing things and dpo like to do the whole organic number when I can - its tricky though cos I do spend a lot of time travelling and Mrs CW isnt into watering gardenes etc (she is as hot as HOT can can be so its all cool - you win some, you lose some! lol)
