That Seemed Needlessly Cruel to Me

Based on what was on the signs around the perimeter of the field were showing, I was watching the World Series on the TV at the gym the other day. When I noticed that the pitcher was pitching underhand, and most of the player had pony tails, it dawned on me this was the (women's) SOFTBALL World Series. The funny bumps of the front their jerseys made it hard to read the team names. We except for one player. She was quite flat-chested and it seemed the others were making fun of her by making her wear this jersey. That just seemed needlessly cruel to me, and not what Iโd expect in this day and age.

I only follow the NFL as I have done that most of my life. It's good to see the ladies on the field been a long time coming for them.

I follow football, ice hockey, road cycling and some rugby union.
Well of course you mean soccer, but is ice hockey a thing in Europe, or do you follow the NHL?
@CleavageFan4U Ice hockey is big in Europe, especially in northern European countries (eg Denmark, Finland, Germany, Russia, Sweden). There's a professional league here - many Americans and Canadians come over to play. Obviously the standard isn't NHL-standard, the standard is probably a league or two below the NHL.
@CleavageFan4U I do keep tabs on the NHL. I've adopted the Montreal Canadiens as my team.

@sleek7124 I like the rough stuff in ice hockey. Sheffield Steers are the rivals to my team, Nottingham Panthers. A couple of years ago, the rivalry got so heated that a Panthers player died after having his throat slashed by a skate! Neck guards are now compulsory.

@CleavageFan4U Thankfully I wasn't at the game. It was a very sad moment. I went to the Nottingham Panthers game, thankfully not against Sheffield Steelers, to mark Adam Johnson's death and raise money for charities in Minnesota (that's where he came from). It was a very sad game especially as his girlfriend attended - an engagement ring was found in Adam Johnson's possession which made the game even more poignant.
I felt sorry for the Canadian player, Matt Petgrave, whose skate slashed Adam Johnson's throat. He was charged with manslaughter but charges were dropped. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean what he did even if he had form of flailing a skating leg around. His career has stalled since.
@CleavageFan4U Please don't get me wrong, this incident wasn't entertainment. It's an example of when sport goes tragically wrong.
Adams Johnson's shirt number is now retired and there's a big banner honouring the ice hockey player displayed at every Nottingham Panthers' home game. It was a very sobering event.
