Happy Tuesday sweeties, quick update. This isn't very sexy but i know there are a few of you who enjoy the updates.This past long weekend was Pride weekend here in Vancouver, we took in some private events, avoided the politics and the anti Israel and Antisemitic crowd, no one in our circle supports them and as expected they blocked the parade, for what and to what end remains a mystery to me.
Saturday afternoon Ortrud entertained the girls softball crew, Mireille played for an opposing team earlier on Saturday as the opposing team was short players, those gals were invited too. Ortrud also invited some women, from 20 to 80 who were in town for Pride, she had her gardens done up lovely and had decorated, very tastefully the lawns, poolside and living areas of her house for guests. Ortrud's event started at 3pm and ran until midnight, for someone in her late 80s Ortrud is quite resourceful and even managed to procure a few sponsorships to help defray the costs of food and drink, myself and some other gals in our circle also donated.
Abby, Jacqueline, Mireille and Nicole all cam home after softball and lunch and showered and changed for Ortrud's event, we arrived at Ortrud's a little after 3pm on Saturday and there were already quite a few guests there. There was a female quartet playjng classical music under a pergola by the pool. Some of Ortrud's longtime girlfriends were going round with trays of finger foods, there was an open bar. It turned into a fun afternoon. At dinnertime Ortrud had a an array of salads set out and a food truck in the driveway was serving up kebabs, skewers of lamb, chicken, beef and pork which young women were bringing in to put on the buffet tables, Ortrud doesn't do anything by half measure. The afternoon and early evening was more of a social event, but once the sun went down so did a lot of us on one another 😀. This afternoon Monique, Nicole, Sylvia and I are driving up to a resort area for a women's conference, it's by invite only, Sylvia is on the Board. It starts tonight and runs until Friday morning. There will be about 300 attendees, all gals, various backgrounds. My neighbour and best friend Sylvia, who has a PhD is well known in academic and corporate circles internationally, I've attended in the past, since Monique has become a lover to Sylvia and her husband Ari, Sylvia was able to recruit Monique to this organization as well.
